The Tour

So good we are doing it all again in 2025 bringing you a series of events and give you the opportunity of spending time with a very special person. You will hear all about the life of an achiever who has given himself a reason to go on and do superhuman things, superhuman things that now seem normal to him. THIS IS THE SHOW THAT RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS EVERYWHERE IT GOES.

Kevin Sinfield is one of the most successful players in rugby league history. Having won many championships and Challenge Cup successes as part of great teams he also earned individual accolades as winner of the Lance Todd Trophy the Harry Sunderland Trophy.

It’s not just the amazing feats that make Kevin what he is, it’s the understated way in which he does them, the amazing mindset and humbleness in which he carries them out. He has a reason and that’s what keeps him going and in November 2024 we have the pleasure of hearing all about it…

He is one of only five British players to ever win the coveted Golden Boot as well as receiving the following honours:

MBE: 2014 (services to rugby league football)

OBE: 2021 (services to rugby league football and charitable fundraising)

CBE: 2024 (services to motor neurone disease awareness)

He is also a major fundraiser for charities associated with Motor Neurone Disease. He started by running seven marathons in seven days, but since then he has continued to push himself and others through more physical challenges to raise much-needed funds and awareness for this cruel and debilitating disease. To date Kevin and his team have raised millions of pounds from the following. Challenges such as:

7 Marathons in 7 days in 2020

101 miles in 24 hours in 2021

7 Ultra Marathons in 7 days 2022

7 Marathons in 7 days plus THE EXTRA MILE 2023

7 Marathons in 7 days in 2020

101 miles in 24 hours in 2021

7 Ultra Marathons in 7 days 2022

7 Marathons in 7 days plus THE EXTRA MILE 2023

Rob Burrow

Of course, we cannot give you any story of Kevin without mentioning friendships and one friendship in particular with Rob Burrow.

Kev and Rob have been friends since they were 14 and 12 respectively. They went on and sat next to each other every day in the dressing room throughout 15 years of rugby and were at the very heart of one of rugby league’s greatest teams. Their friendship and camaraderie extended beyond the field, and their bond grew stronger over the years. From shared victories to facing life’s challenges, Sinfield and Burrow exemplify the enduring power of friendship and at these events we will hear about this special friendship too.

Kevin Sinfield CBE aims to bring the MND community together with his latest challenge.

Kevin and his team will once again hit the streets of the UK and Republic of Ireland this December to raise money and awareness for those impacted by motor neurone disease.

Kevin, who along with his team have already raised over £10 million with five previous challenges, is set to run seven ultra marathons in seven days across seven cities or regions. Again, this will include an Extra Mile event where members of the MND community will join Kev for one mile each day from 1st to 7th December 2025. Each day will be broken down into 7km blocks that Sinfield must complete inside the hour, before setting off on the next leg on the hour.

This year, Kevin and the team will visit new locations that could be overlooked by major events so the MND community in each know they are not forgotten. The name for this year’s challenge is 7 in 7: Together.

The challenge will start on Monday 1st December as the team arrive in East Anglia, running from Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich in tribute to former Ipswich Town striker Marcus Stewart, who is living with MND.

On 2nd December, the team will return to the Republic of Ireland. Back in 2023, Kevin was joined by legendary Irish broadcaster Charlie Bird in Dublin before Charlie passed away after his battle with MND in March 2024. This time the 7 in 7 team will arrive in Cork with the Irish MND Association who once again are one of the beneficiaries from the challenge. The day will also see the team remember former Warrington Rugby League player and Munster Rugby Union coach Paul Darbyshire, who died in 2011 from MND.

On 3rd December, the 7 in 7 challenge goes to Wales for a circuit of Swansea before moving back to England on 4th December to South Yorkshire and the challenge of an ultra-marathon around the hills of Sheffield. This day will finish at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) where groundbreaking research is being done to find treatment and hopefully ultimately a cure for MND, including work part-funded by previous challenges.

On 5th December, Kevin and the team will move to Cumbria with a run from Workington to Whitehaven in a region that is passionate about Rugby League that will ensure a warm reception even in the depths of winter.

The penultimate day will see the challenge move to Scotland with the late Doddie Weir always an inspiration for the team when they cross the Border. This day will start at the legendary golf course Carnoustie before travelling into Dundee.

The challenge will be completed as Kevin and the team return to Leeds for the first time since 2023 and the passing of Rob Burrow last year. This will start in North Yorkshire before culminating at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium.

Six MND charities will once again benefit from the challenge. The MND Association are the main beneficiary along with donations to Leeds Hospitals Charity’s support for the Rob Burrow Centre, Irish MND Association, Darby Rimmer Foundation, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and MND Scotland.

Details of timings and route maps will be announced closer to the event.

• MND Association (65%)
• Leeds Hospitals Charity (7%)
• Irish MND Association (7%)
• Darby Rimmer MND Foundation (7%)
• My Name'5 Doddie Foundation (7%)
• MND Scotland (7%)

Thank you for your continued support.

Best Wishes,

Kevin and team
